Frequently Asked Questions

What should my children and I wear to this church?

You will find most adults wear a range of styles from dressy casual to business dress. Children and teens do not need to dress up since they frequently have activities that require them to be comfortable. They should dress so they can actively engage in the program.

Is there any childcare/Sunday school during the church service?

Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided during the service. Children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade attend church school during the service. Grades nine through twelve have church school class at 10 AM and attend the service at 11. On the first Sunday of the month, all children go to church for the beginning of the service, and leave for class after the minister provides an Object Lesson to them.

If my child doesn’t separate well, can she or he stay with me in the service?

Yes. You may also remain in the class with your child if that works best. In addition we have a crying room in the Beacon Room (library) so that you can be with your child and still see the service.

Are people of all races/beliefs/orientations welcome in this congregation?

Yes, definitely. We celebrate our diversity.

What goes on during the worship service?

We have music and hymn singing, as well as readings, a short meditative period, announcements, and a sermon given by our minister.

Before our service, at 10:30, we meet and mingle for refreshments. When you arrive, members of the Welcoming Team are standing by the nametag kiosk in the breezeway to greet visitors and provide information and directions. A guest registry is available in the sanctuary if you would like to sign up for our e-newsletter and get a nametag.
