Wedding Information
Are you considering the First Unitarian Church for your wedding? The Church of the River, with its breathtaking setting overlooking the Mississippi River, is a popular place for weddings.
Weddings are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore, it is important that you make arrangements well in advance of your desired wedding date.
Because our church is not a wedding chapel, weddings are booked Monday - Friday after 4:00 p.m. and on Saturdays only.
The areas of the church that are available for weddings include the Sanctuary, which seats 300, and Channing Wing, adjacent to the Sanctuary. Channing Wing includes restrooms and a large room for the bride and her attendants to dress. The church is handicapped accessible.
Our small brick courtyard located outside the Sanctuary is available for outdoor ceremonies or for taking photographs, if desired.
Please be aware that facilities for a wedding reception are unavailable at our church. We suggest that you research downtown Memphis where you will find a variety of options.
