For Times You Need a Sacred or Special Place

Memorial Services and Celebrations of Life are often very personal occasions, designed to honor the memory of your loved one. We try to make those somber events little easier for you. For church members and non-members who want a place other than a funeral home where family and friends can gather, The Church of the River facilities are available. With beautiful views of the Mississippi River, our downtown sanctuary is a serene and safe place to grieve the loss of a loved one. Our minister and staff will work with you to accommodate your needs in this difficult time.

 

Please note that the stairs in our sanctuary do not allow for coffins or caskets.

Memorial Service Packages

Memorial Service Plus Reception

  • Description: Memorial Service in the beautiful sanctuary with a view of the Mississippi River
  • Sanctuary Capacity: 250 people
  • Time: 5 hours access to the Sanctuary and Social Hall

Memorial Service only (no reception)

  • Description: Memorial Service in the beautiful sanctuary with a view of the Mississippi River
  • Sanctuary Capacity: 250 people
  • Time: 3 hours access to the Sanctuary
  • Additional Time: Additional time available at an hourly rate

With either package...

  • A staff person will arrive to open doors approximately 1.5 hours before start time to allow for flower delivery, A/V set-up, etc.
  • Prices listed are for non-members. Church members, please contact the office for member pricing.
  • If you would like to have our minister, Rev. Sam Teitel, preside over the service, please contact him directly.
  • If you wish to hire our pianist to provide music, and for any other questions or details, please contact our Office Administrator.
