Worship
Traditional, casual, inspirational

Our multi-generational service looks similar to a Protestant-style worship, but draws on ideas from many different faith traditions. The hour begins with the lighting of a chalice, the symbol of our Unitarian Universalist faith.  There's a "Time for All Ages" especially for children in the congregation, who leave afterward to go to their classrooms. We'll sing some hymns, both traditional and modern, and "The Awesome Little" choir performs several selections including an always-inspiring anthem.  The minister will offer readings, usually from both an ancient text and a modern poet or author,  then leads a short prayer and a moment of silent reflection before giving a sermon on the day's theme.  We also celebrate traditional holidays like Christmas and Easter, along with special seasonal events like Blessing of the Backpacks, Trunk 'r' Treat, Love and All That Jazz, Stone Soup, and Mother's Day Flower Communion.

Find comfort and community here

When you arrive on Sunday morning, you'll likely be met out front by a "greeter," who will offer you a "Visitor" name tag if you want one. You can come early for coffee or tea, snacks and casual conversation in our fellowship hall overlooking the river--it's a great way to meet people and ask questions about our church!  If you have children, our family ministry team will help you find their rooms. If you choose to become more involved in church life, you'll find lots of ways to Get Connected, through small groups, volunteering and social events.
